Theric Jepson's "A Hymn for Mother’s Day in Long Meter" (2012)

Our Mother watches from above;
Her silence cannot mask her love.
Of all the mysteries, we reflect,
Her silence is the greatest yet.

All living have a mother dear
though some are broken, lost, or feared.
Not all have Mary’s quiet grace
but most see heav’n in their child’s face.

Our mother Eve, the first we know,
chose us and knowledge, even though
it led to suff’ring, death, and pain—
and love and joy and cleansing rain.

As we reflect and look for types
in both the scriptures and our lives,
we know she watches from above:
No silence could mask Mother’s love.
